Meet Kay Gruder
With 12 years of experience as a parent coach and 30 years of experience in higher education providing advising to students, I have a deep knowledge of student development through the early adult years. I have seen how informed parenting, and effectively pairing freedom and support, can help students to make the most of their college experience and successfully engage in adulthood.
Recognizing that parents seek access to parenting resources when they need them most, I wrote Parenting Your College Student, providing concise, strategy and tip driven content, that you can put to immediate use as you communicate with, and guide, your student during the many transitions, challenges, and stressful situations that occur during college.
Knowing we don't do our best parenting when we are worried or stressed, my goal is to help you move from challenges to solutions.
